This album will always be the genesis of my funk obsession. I was told one day that if I really wanted to get funked, to go to dustygroove and just randomly buy 5-10 Deep Funk CDs. I did and this one was in that pile. It blew me away the same way Jerry Garcia did, or Trey Anastasio did the first time I saw them live. (1984 and 1991). I listened to this and the Sound of funk Series (Goldmine records which will always be 2nd best to Soul Patrol to me) and it was over. My buddy sealed the deal by giving me the Blue Breakbeats collection that same summer.
Who's next?
