Still trying to decide if I like this one or the first one better. Both are quality though. Didn't like the direction that Lance (Lanu) went on the solo tip though. Ugh.

I hear that gs. I'll always think that Step it up is a classic but I gotta say I think rawville might smoke it. I would have loved one more album in the same genre before they branched out into a morphed musical direction just like you. Me and the wife are trying to plan a trip to Austrailia to see them next year. I may have to break dance battle someone there. haha. Great now I'll be singing this in my worst fake rapper voice all day: If you, If you, wanna know, wanna know, the real deal about the krewe!

Did you guys pick up "Black Feeling" ? It's on Freestyle. It's good. I'm pretty sure that's a Lanu thing. He was a busy boy last year. I'm leaning to the first release on the Bamboos side of things. They have yet to top that for me. Although there are some strong rubs on Rawville.

So yeah, I guess Lance was REAL busy last year: Cookin on 3 Burners: "Baked, Broiled & Fried"I heard a track today on last.fm and was pleasantly surprised on the personnel when I looked it up. What I've heard is pretty good, but that's a track or two. Anybody else heard this?

I recently had a brief communication with Ivan Khatchoyan on last.fm, he told me they are currently recording thier 2nd album. He didn't give me any details though.

I have started to dig hard on these cats. The drummer (the young bloke) plays one of the most stripped down kits I've ever seen, and still rips!!
It's funny that most these guys didn't start playing funk or jazz right off. But they have such incrediable chops, it's purely sickening!!
With that said, I still have much to learn from these guys!

A while back I would say Rawville couldnt touch Step it Up....but recently ive been groovin some Rawville and now they both sit side by side in my funky heart.
For real, the consistent groove these guys know how to lay down is unbelievable. With funk music, I feel it is very easy to get repetitive and sometimes get bland. The Bamboos avoid this with creative and fresh funk compositions full of excellent musicianship. Love this album!
....i also might add...heard of the bamboos from theminx!

The bamboos also have a live album whitch is very good. It really captures a nice live vibe, with great funk songs (both original work and covers).
